The Ionia Horse Trails Association working together with the Ionia State Recreation Area has built a one of a kind public Equestrian Confidence Course.
In Phase 1 ten challenge obstacles have been built for riders to test their relationship and their skill in communicating with their horse. The design is part of a new trail that wraps the equine campground and integrates natural terrain with creative use of things your horse sees regularly - and things they don't. Each obstacle also has a "by-pass" so any rider can choose not to attempt any obstacle.
The official opening and Ribbon Cutting will be Thursday May 16 at 4:00 pm. Guests should meet at the pavilion in the equine campground at ISRA. Please be aware, entrance to the ISRA requires a recreation passport.
