The AARP Smart Driver Course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. Since 1979, the course has helped more than 15 million drivers learn research-based tips to adapt their driving to compensate for physical and cognitive changes that may occur with aging. Plus, you may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance agent for details).
The course will be held at the Ionia County Commission on Aging Senior Center.The cost of the course is payable to the instuctor the day of in cash, money order, or personal check made out to AARP. A snack (popcorn), coffee, and water will be provided during the training session for attendees. There will be a 45 minute lunch break with "Lunch To Go" available: $3 donation for Seniors 60+, $3 charge if under 60. Space is limited, so register now by calling (616) 527-5365.
